Shayla McDaniel With Her Soothing Track "Better Days"

Introducing one amazing artist known as Shayla McDaniel she seamlessly blends hints of R&B with alternative pop. Her newest song “Take My Words” is out on January 29. The Knoxville, Tennessee, based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist have performed at Rhythm N’ Blooms Music Festival, Waynestock, the Cre865 Showcase, Women in Jazz Jam Festival, and live on-air at WUTK 90.3 FM, WDVX 89.9 FM, and WOZO 103.9 FM. McDaniel has also caught the attention of the Knoxville Music Warehouse, who chose her song “I’ll Leave the Light On” as one of the top 16 songs from Knoxville artists in 2016. The following year, fans voted her Knoxville’s Favorite Band of 2017. Her song “Silence” from the EP 26 Letters was voted Best Singer/Songwriter Song in the 2018 Knoxville Music Awards. She was voted Knoxville’s Best Musician/Band in 2018 Best of Knoxville Awards, nominated Best Female Local Singer/Songwriter of 2019 and 2020 by CityView Magazine, and nominated Knoxville's Best Musician/Band of 2019 and 2020 by Knoxnews readers. McDaniel continues to play live shows with her band, as well as intimate solo performances for growing local and regional audiences.​ Following the release of her newest single "Better Days", she projects a very nostalgic sound that will certainly intrigue your ears. Starting the track with soft instrumentation leading onto her full and sweet vocals she completes the track entirely. Explaining the track further it talks about how "The only time you have is now, so take care of yourself." As part of Mental Health Awareness Month, “Better Days” uses layers of guitars over a resolute drum beat to create a mellow, yet motivating atmosphere to ponder the importance of self-care, particularly getting enough sleep. “A bunch of late nights working on the computer, and being really tired all the time inspired this song,” McDaniel said. “I’m a one-woman team, and if I’m not doing stuff, stuff’s not getting done.
