Though cheekily self-described as "moderately danceable," Mystery Friends don't want you to sit still. Falling somewhere between Talking Heads and Dua Lipa, the DC-based band makes fresh synth-pop and disco-tinged tracks you didn't know you were missing. "Beck and Call" is an absolutely fun single that is very reminiscent to Abba, with the disco-esque drum grooves but aggressive bass that has early rock influences. The vocal as well is distorted a bit for a feel of grit. During the hook the distortion is used in full force to really get in your mind and settle there until the next one. The singer has a lot of potential we think to over take her heros positions in the music space. All the artist needs is determination. Listen below.
