Introducing two artists who have come together to present an amazing song called "Start Over". Getting to know these acts a bit Trey Bond grew up in New Zealand and was surrounded by great music from a young age. His mother was a fan of what Trey calls the “golden age” of R&B - LL Cool J, Lucy Pearl, and artists grouped under the New Jack Swing movement. His father preferred Hip Hop and Neo Soul. He even discovered music through his grandparents, who played Marvin Gaye and Whitney Houston records when Trey was growing up. “My family love to party, love to have a good time. There was always music in the house, whether it was just my mother cleaning or a get-together at my family’s place, there was always music playing in the background,” he says. His demos began gaining traction on Soundcloud, and he soon developed a strong following in New Zealand. But once he felt like he hit a wall in the country, he started all over again, moving to Australia in order to push his music into new territories, to experiment and expand his sound. In Melbourne, he found a thriving cultural ecosystem that was more open to different genres and music. He felt less boxed in. As well as 6lack who is an American singer and rapper.
He initially gained notable recognition following the release of his single, "Prblms", taken from his debut album, Free 6lack, which was released in November 2016. He released his second album, East Atlanta Love Letter in September 2018, which peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 chart. Later that year, he released the single "OTW" (with Khalid and Ty Dolla Sign). 6lack was featured on the Normani single "Waves", which earned him an MTV Video Music Award. In June 2020, he released the EP 6pc Hot, which included the single, "Know My Rights" (featuring Lil Baby). Later that year he was featured on the Gorillaz track "The Pink Phantom", with Elton John. In 2021, his single "Calling My Phone" (with Lil Tjay), topped the charts in Canada, and peaked at number three in the US, becoming both artists' highest charting song on both charts. 6lack is currently signed to Love Renaissance and Interscope Records. He is also a member of the Atlanta-Baltimore music collective Spillage Village, founded by EarthGang and JID. 6lack has received three Grammy Award nominations and has won an MTV Video Music Award. Following the release of their newest single "Start Over" they project a captivating sound that will certainly intrigue your ears. Beginning with booming instrumentation leading onto their smooth and intoxicating vocals they complete the song fully. Explaining the track a bit further it's about reminiscing on a tumultuous relationship that didn’t have a clear end and the fantasy of turning back time, blotting out the mistakes. To the vocals and production, this single will definitely have you vibing and possibly relating to the lyrics. It would be just perfect for a late-night drive or alone within your thoughts.
