The Underwater Believers is a solo project by Eric D. Moore, who is also the singer and guitarist of the post-punk band Details of Eating based in Phoenix. The project started as a means to create ambient textures for live shows but has now become his own creative outlet for exploring concepts beyond the band. The music is a blend of synth-pop, slow-core, and dream pop, with a focus on analog gear such as Korg Volcas and a Fender Jazz bass for rhythm. The lyrics of the song "Weehawken" are introspective, exploring themes of self-discovery and personal growth. The project plans to release a new single every six weeks in 2023, with a happy, experimental, and energetic mood.
