The Shadowboxers - "Breaking Habits"

From their start as a backing band for the Indigo Girls to most recently working and touring alongside mentor Justin Timberlake, the trio of Scott Tyler, Matt Lipkins and Adam Hoffman have continuously captivated audiences across the globe with their distinctive flair. Bridging the gap between classic, harmony-driven melodies and contemporary pop-R&B rhythms, TSB now take the reins as songwriters and producers. A pivotal point in a long series of serendipitous moments for the group, TSB have finally settled into their own, their new music representative of the trio’s newfound clarity. Breaking Habits’ title speaks for itself. It’s a song as much as it is a mantra for anyone who’s struggled with growth. The smallest changes can feel like monumental challenges and this song is a reminder that you’re not alone in that fight. The instrumental starts with what sounds like a vintage arpegio, and then the vocals come in as a tease truly giving the classic 70's sound of th Bee Gees, we can truly feel the influence with a tad bit of Beatles in there as well. The vocals then open up to give us a full sound. The instrumental even has a switch up moment where the main vocalist has his moment and then support starts coming in. An amazing expierence is what brings the single and we think that Justin Timberlake being a mentor is exactly perfect and what the group needed in order to expand their knowledge and better their crafts as a group.
