Introducing "GET ATOMIC" by The Creachies, a Synthpop track inspired by the creative and liberating atmosphere of Atomic Books in Baltimore. The single is something absolutely colorful we think. Following the success of their single "Chopping Mall," The Creachies were approached by Atomic Books to create an original song. Embracing this opportunity, they not only agreed to make a song but also offered to create two songs and a video. "GET ATOMIC" is about breaking free from the constraints of everyday life and finding that special thing, place, or person that ignites a sense of freedom and possibility. It's a song that encourages listeners to escape the mundane, open their eyes, make their own choices, and embrace the extraordinary. The Creachies capture the essence of discovery and transformation, suggesting that this liberating force could be found in a book, a song, a painting, or a friend. The music video for "GET ATOMIC," created with a modest budget and the help of talented animator Grace Boyle, is a visual feast influenced by retro-futuristic art, movies like "Barbarella" and "Flash Gordon," (a film we love) Jim Henson's creations, and vintage animation. The video, filled with fun and camp, was created in the band's basement, featuring an extra-large tub of mayonnaise as part of its quirky production. Listen now to see what we mean.
