Sarpa Salpa, the indie-pop band from the UK, is back with their new single ‘She Never Lies’. The track is a tantalizing blend of indie melodies and highly danceable rhythms that have become synonymous with the band's much loved hook-heavy sound. The release date of the track is January 20th, 2023 and is self-released under their label Well Heeled Recordings.
The band's previous single 'Dreaming' received high acclaim and was selected as BBC Introducing's Track of the Week on BBC Radio 1 for the week of August 27th. This provided the band with 8 daytime national radio plays and introduced them to a whole new audience.
‘She Never Lies’ has also received support from Jack Saunders (Future Artists) and Clara Amfo (Future Sounds) on BBC Radio 1 as well as from BBC Introducing, 6 Music, Amazing Radio, Radio X (X-Posure Playlist) and the Student Radio Association via their Student’s Union Spotify playlist as well as across University airwaves throughout the UK.
The band members have said that ‘She Never Lies’ is one of the first songs they wrote together as a band and has become a fan favorite. They are proud of how the track has turned out and think it’s some of their best work to date.
Sarpa Salpa had a busy summer with festival appearances at SXSW, The Great Escape and 110 Above and a headline tour in October. They have now teamed up with Independent Venue Week UK for a co-headline tour with Low Girl this February performing at some of their most loved grassroots venues culminating with a fast-selling headline show at The Lexington, London on February 28th. The tour dates are listed below.
The band has received positive feedback from industry professionals, with Jack Saunders from BBC Radio 1 saying "This band is getting better and better with every single release. They will provide that rush of serotonin that you need” and Music Crowns praising them as "Flooded with nostalgic synths, a grooving bassline and nuanced guitar, the band have woven together an irresistible tapestry of upbeat alt-pop”. Sarpa Salpa is definitely one of the most creative and memorable emerging bands in the UK right now, according to CLOUT.
