RIIKI With Her Amazing Track "Good Times"

Raquel Abolins-Reid is an indie-pop newcomer RIIKI. Raised in New Zealand’s creative capital city and now aged 20, RIIKI is still young, but has many stories to tell. Her most recent release ‘High Heights’ is a testimony to this as her wild creativity drew inspiration from encountering seagulls at the beach. Following her debut single ‘One Day’, ’High Heights’ is RIIKI’s second-ever release, co-produced by Simon Gooding (projects include P!nk, Dua Lipa and Migos) which stunned an appearance on the Hot 20 NZ singles charts for some weeks. The track also made it on Apple Music’s A-list Pop and New Music Daily playlist’s, and featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlists in NZ/AU, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Norway and also became the face of the popular Spotify playlist ‘Pop Edge’.

With a childhood centered around the performing arts, her vibrant persona on stage detaches her from others within her genre. Now with a brand new shiny deal signed with Global agency WME, RIIKI is ready to bring a new flare to live shows, starting with her very first debut headline show. Following the release of her newest single "Good Times" she projects a very outstanding sound that will surely grasp your ears. Starting the track with a groovy sound leading onto her luscious vocals she completes the track fully. The flowy intro to the catchy melody you certainly will be intrigued. To explain the track further it isn’t at all a difficult topic to relate to for the vast majority of the nation, in fact it hits the nail on the head when thinking about the whirlwind year 2020 has been. Written whilst coming out of lockdown in New Zealand, RIIKI metaphorically imagines seeing the “good times” as a physical person that comes to take her out of her bad place and into a better place which she feels she hasn’t see for a long time. “Good Times” is a reminder to self that after any bad experience and slump in your life, good times surely must follow even when you can’t see the future becoming brighter. This track would be perfect for a day at the beach or just strolling around the city. Go stream "Good Times" and check out her discography which is filled with amazing tracks.
