Asheville-based rock band Powder Horns is set to release their sophomore album, Dissolution, on March 10th via Dem Daisies. The album's lead single, "Unlovers," is set to be released on January 5th alongside its accompanying music video.

The band, which fuses punk and noise rock with a hint of power pop, is the brainchild of songwriter Brett J Kent. The recording process for Dissolution took place at Drop of Sun studios with Adam McDaniel and Alex Farrar serving as producers.

Lyrically, Dissolution touches on personal and difficult themes for Kent, including the suicide of close friends, the effects of trauma, and the feeling of hyper-vigilance. The songs on the album are a cathartic release for Kent, who poured his emotions into them.

Powder Horns' journey to the release of Dissolution has been a challenging one. After the collapse of his previous band and the difficulties of the lockdown in 2020, Kent nearly gave up on music altogether. However, he discovered a new passion for songwriting and was able to channel his experiences and emotions into the creation of Dissolution.

With the release of "Unlovers" and the announcement of their upcoming album, Powder Horns is a band to keep an eye on in the new year. Be sure to check out their lead single and music video on January 5th and look out for the release of Dissolution in March.
