Pallaví aka Fijiana x Stunnaman02 - "Touch Me"

Pallaví aka Fijiana, a musical force embodying the rich cultural tapestry of Fiji and the Bay Area, has graced us with her latest seductive R&B single, "Touch Me." With a mood that can only be described as sexy, Fijiana showcases her versatile talent, effortlessly shifting between genres and cultural influences. Her music journey has taken her from jazz-influenced rap to modern pop and now into the realm of contemporary R&B, all while representing her dualistic cultural identity.

Fijiana's music is a powerful reflection of her real emotions, often touching on political issues, spiritual insights, and romantic experiences. Her dynamic sound has garnered widespread recognition, with features in respected publications like Rolling Stone India, Vogue India, KQED, and MTV. Notably, her track "Droptop Shawty" found a home in the STARZ series "Blindspotting," showcasing her cross-genre appeal.

Now, Fijiana is gearing up for her upcoming album, which promises to be a departure from her previous releases. This new project, as yet untitled, heralds what she calls her "soft girl era." It delves deep into the multifaceted concept of love, taking listeners on a journey of self-discovery and eventual acceptance of true love.

The album's debut single, "Touch Me," is a nod to the fun and flirty R&B of the early 2000s, complete with a playful call-and-response dynamic. Collaborating with the rising Bay Area artist Stunnaman02, known for "Big Steppin," the track exudes a palpable chemistry. The accompanying music video, an homage to the 1991 film "Mississippi Masala," is a testament to Fijiana's commitment to celebrating her roots and themes of identity. In her own words, "We wanted to showcase Bay Area culture, where we are both from, and also pay homage to a great interracial love story."

The second single, "See You in the Dark," is accompanied by a meticulously choreographed dance video, seamlessly blending Indian dafli drums with contemporary beats, creating an Afro-Indo fusion that's both captivating and innovative.

Moreover, Fijiana's exploration of her vocal abilities takes center stage in tracks like "Own It," "Crash the Car," and "Clear Space," offering a fresh dimension to her artistry.

Beyond her studio work, Fijiana's live shows are immersive experiences, featuring fully choreographed performances interwoven with heartfelt stories on love, life, and identity. Recent performances at venues like San Francisco's Brick and Mortar and events like "Tales of the Town" and the AAPI Community Festival in Oakland have further solidified her reputation as a dynamic and captivating live performer.

With the upcoming release of her album, Fijiana is set to make waves in the world of R&B, showcasing her prowess as an artist unafraid to push boundaries and explore the depths of her creativity while staying true to her roots.
