Mitch Davis - "My City Life"

Davis is a mainstay of the vibrant Montréal music scene, with a musical background encompassing everything from rock bands (Faith Healer) to avant-garde (Elle Barbara's Black Space) to jazz and hip-hop (Cadence Weapon). The Haunt is a synthesis of his many musical interests, stretching back to his childhood when he played drums in the church band and saxophone in his school band (he plays both on The Haunt.) "My City Life" begins without a breath or any time to wait. The song starts off with a piano that is reminiscent to the late 80's or Elton John himself. The writing immediately grasps your attention and makes you want to listen in full force. The artist does well keeping the listener attached to their seats wherever they are with the build up over time. Listen below.
