Introducing Mike Ruby with "A Million You’s", the single is from his second solo EP of the same title stands out as a heartfelt narrative of reflection we think. As a singer-songwriter based in Toronto, Mike Ruby's background is pretty interesting to say the least. With his roots extending back to New York's smooth jazz scene, his work as a saxophone player, and his scholarship at the Manhattan School of Music, Ruby's artistry is strong with a profound understanding of melody and musicianship, something you don't see or hear a lot in modern times. The leap into a more synth-driven, dance-friendly style though has unlocked a new dimension of creative potential for him as an artist and musician, it shows in his work. The feature track, co-produced with the talented Nathan Ferraro, showcases a synergy of raw, lyrical prowess and the warmth of real instrumentation. This creates a spacious soundscape where Ruby's dynamic vocal range can shine as it does, capturing the emotional peaks with high notes and grounding moments with chest notes, we think it's just reminiscent to someone like Harry Styles, particularly in how the mix is crafted very clean, and impactful, with a strong presence that makes each element of the track stand out.
