Introducing Leon Rosen with the latest single "Cafe Dogs". Leon Rosen was born and raised in San Francisco, the son of an abstract painter and a dancer turned journalist. His prodigious talent on the piano was recognized early on and by his teens, Leon performed with Bay Area jazz meistros Herbie Lewis and Sonny Simmons. He composed the score for the Daughters of Ishtar, an opera performed at Burning Man. The single is quite the interesting one to us, really. The vocals feel modern within the single, but the instrumental feels dated and influence by the sounds of the past specifically the late 70's. We get flavors of elton john within the single, which really improves the artist writing with that type of influence. As everyone knows, elton john is a prolific writer, one of the best. The artist shows that he studied that. Listen below.
