Upcoming artist KLARK (pronounced "Clark") is a multi-media artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Drawing from personal experience, his confessional lyrics explore unapologetically queer, Asian-American identity. Mixing these themes with handcrafted pop/R&B production and richly layered vocals, KLARK achieves a rare feat in contemporary music: intimacy. Building on his acclaimed 2018 debut "88," his latest releases "HOLDING MY BREATH," "HONEY," and "YELLOWJOY" showcase his evolution as a songwriter, performer, and storyteller. The latter is a queer and Asian-American anthem, responding to yellow peril racism. Following his newest single "Voodoo" he projects a very groovy track that will certainly captivate your ears. Beginning the song with an upbeat sound leading onto his sweet and soft vocals he completes the track fully. Explaining the song further it's about a spellbinding queer love that transcends pandemics, presidential administrations, and personal struggle. “Even when I lost everything / even separated by oceans / even through a pandemic / you’ve been mine through thick and thin / like magic.” The production is inspired by his global identity as a queer AAPI artist who bounces between both U.S. coasts, the U.K., and Asia. To the vocals and production, this single will definitely have you dancing. Being just perfect for a late night drive or hanging out with some friends. Go stream "Voodoo" and check out his discography which is filled with outstanding tracks.
