Kingsley Q has released his fourth single of the year, "Angel," which has already garnered over 11 million streams. This personal song deals with the theme of Kingsley's deceased mother and is a poignant and uplifting pop-R&B track. It was written by Kingsley himself, who won the Listen to Berlin Award last year, and produced by Alexander Justus, who was formerly signed to US superstar Mario Winans. The track was mixed and mastered by Paco Bose (Lex Barkey).
Kingsley Q, who hails from Berlin with Ghanaian roots, describes his style as having "expressive vocals and a cool vibe." He received a singing education at the Academy stage school and performing arts at the age of 15, and has been captivating audiences with his distinctive voice ever since. He has supported a number of notable musicians, including rappers BRKN and Ivy Quainoo, and won the talent show The Battle with his impressive performance. He also created a new interpretation of Pharrell Williams' "Happy" (Berlin Dance Edition) that received over 1.5 million views on YouTube.
In 2017, Kingsley won bigFM's radio challenge and was named the network's Newcomer of the Month. He also won the public choice award at the BMC Listen to Berlin Awards in 2018. He has performed as a support act for a variety of singers, including Nneka, Ady Suleiman, JP Cooper, Ruel, MAX, Kara Marni, JC Stewart, MiC LOWRY & Tank and The Bangas.
Kingsley's previous collaborations include "There Is No Wonderwall" with Sylow & Pierre Leck, which was featured on the Spotify Editorial Playlist "Electro Chill" and has received over 9 million streams, and "Out of Time" with DJ KHEMIS. His single "Waiting For" has also received over 100K streams on Spotify.
