Khamari is a multifaceted independent artist, songwriter, and producer, who grew up in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, MA. His first project wraps his powerfully earnest songwriting around contemporary sonics, with stellar production from Trackside throughout. Skilled as a vocalist, pianist, and guitarist, Khamari's music is distilled from influences ranging as wide as The Beatles and Stevie Wonder to Frank Ocean and Kid Cudi. His debut single, Jealous, released in June 2020, racked up editorial love and playlisting across the board such as Spotify's New Music Friday and Fresh Finds, Apple Music's FEELS, the cover artist for Tidal's Pop Rising, Amazon Music's Introducing R&B, and more.
The Heat, is Khamari's followup to his debut single Jealous, it's an ode to difficulties of feeling lost and feeling the pressure. Self written and produced, the song was given a final production assist from his friends Trackside (Selena Gomez, Tinashe, Bryce Vine). The song is the second release leading up to Khamari's debut EP, coming fall 2020. Organic instrumentation, relaxed but direct, provides the perfect backdrop for his soulful voice to plead its case. He tells his story of needing to get away from something, without even knowing where he's going just away. This track has such a dreamy essence to the production which makes a perfect connection to his sweet and soft vocals. This song suits best for a drive around the city with friends or just a nice song to listen to a night. Take a listen to "The Heat".
