Lil West is an artist we've recently just came across, he's been doing his thing at the young age of 20 (although he might not sound it by that deep growl that is his voice), West is among the generation of millennials that are constantly wired— thus his influences are broad, and his sound knows no geographical borders. Home-grown on the internet, his youthful sound is attributed to mixture of heavy metal, indie rock and trap. He looks to artists like Rob Bank$, M.I.A. and Yung Gleesh for inspiration— clearly showing his age. Lil West first began experimenting with raps at the age of 15, and a couple of short years later, he started uploading his music to Soundcloud, developing a small but substantial following. He signed with Nomad Music Group at the age of 17, which lead to notable collaborations with 21 Savage, Rich The Kid, Allan Kingdom, Night Lovell, and Nessly, among others. His records, which often incorporate a melodic hook and auto-tune of varying degree. His track "Give It All Up" sounds polished yet atmospheric, you can hear the young artist developing a sound of his own while still being influenced by the artist he's been growing up listening to. The beat is produced by the duo Take A Daytrip, a luscious guitar driven instrumental, open for the artist to lay vocals. We hope to see this artist grow.
