Emmrose wrote her first song five years ago in math class. She is now a 17-year-old songwriter and performer based in New York City currently working on the follow-up to her first EP, Hopeless Romantics, released in 2019. Despite quarantine she's been continuing at her craft working and bettering herself all the while, her newest single "Thorns" is one of the most cathartic songs Emmrose has ever written. Every verse was about a different person in her life who she carried some resentment against, but want things to change for the better. Thorns represent her open wounds. They are the people in her life that continue to hurt her, even if they aren’t in her life anymore. To us this single was a bit relatable to Lana Del Rey in certain aspects and makes us want to dive into her catalogue more to feel that feeling.
