Outstanding act Ellur is a Northern indie-pop artist who writes self-detrimental love letters to herself in the form of danceable guitar anthems. Ellur’s music glows with youthful energy whilst she reflects on rejection, craving validation, and independence. The 21-year-old Halifax artist decided she would write about her relationship with herself and take inspiration from a range of her musical icons from HAIM to Cocteau Twins when she was recording her new tracks in Leeds’ Greenmount studio with Lee Smith (Holly Humberstone / Easy Life) and Rob Slater (Yard Act). Upcoming new singles ‘Close To You' and ‘Best Face On’ are both shining examples of Ellur’s ability to write deeply infectious, feel-good indie-pop anthems.
Ellur released her empowering ‘Moments EP’ in 2021 via Dance To The Radio Records with singles championed by Spotify Editorials (NMF UK / EQUAL / Hot New Bands / Peach / Alternative Future etc.), DORK Magazine, BBC Introducing and synced on new Amazon series ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ and Channel 4. Since the release of Moments EP, Ellur and her live band have supported the likes of Baby Queen, Abby Roberts, and Saint Motel and have exciting live plans ahead with showcase festivals in 2022 such as Live At Leeds, Humber St Sesh & more TBA. With the release of her newest single "Best Face On", she presents a phenomenal sound that will certainly intrigue your attention. Beginning with dreamy instrumentation leading onto her soft and sultry vocals she completes the song entirely. Explaining the track a bit further it's about coming to terms with adulthood. To the vocals and production, this single will definitely have you vibing and singing along to the lyrics. Being just perfect for a late-night drive or a walk down the beach after dawn. Go stream "Best Face On".
