Don Gog - "Q"

Introducing 'Q' by Don Gog, a track that plunges us into a deep, trippy soundscape, reminiscent of a surreal Adult Swim commercial break. This instrumental piece evokes the essence of artists like Flying Lotus, rooted deeply in the realms of Trip-Hop and dare we say Lofi. The magic of the track really lies in its experimental mood, a downtempo rhythm that captivates with its bass-heavy beats and ethereal textures. Don Gog's skill in blending genres is evident, as he draws inspiration from the likes of Massive Attack, Portishead, Tricky, and Roots Manuva. Don Gog collaborated with a jazz trumpeter, capturing improvisations which he then sampled and morphed into new melodies. These samples were recorded to tape, processed through an MPC3000, and then meticulously edited in a digital audio workstation. Don Gog's approach to 'Q' reflects a thoughtful and innovative artistry. The grainy, and kind of radio-like quality of the sampled vocals adds a layer of mystique, enhancing the track's psychedelic vibe we personally think. Listen now.
