Upcoming artist David Gabriel Thorpe is a South African producer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Berlin, Germany. Having spent his early years in various punk, art-rock, and synth-pop bands (most notably the internationally recognized duo Gateway Drugs) in Cape Town, he moved to Berlin and began working on a more subdued and mature sound which would eventually become his solo project. This new musical endeavor, released under his own name, is a relaxed and dreamy culmination of musical elements from his past, whilst incorporating influences both old and new. With the release of his newest single "Summer Rain," he projects a very vibrant track that will certainly grasp your ears. Beginning with groovy instrumentation leading onto his sweet and soft vocals he completes the single fully. Explaining the track further it's about a tribute to his love of a monkey's wedding as well as maintaining your sanity during a worldwide pandemic.
