#BrainWater - "RoseColoredGlasses" (feat. Bob Johnston)

Updated: Nov 1, 2023

Introducing #BrainWater with "RoseColoredGlasses" (feat. Bob Johnston). This alternative hip-hop track might be a conundrum in production quality, but we thought the writing and delivery was pretty strong to be clear, we think this was more so reminiscent to Mac Miller and Chance the Rapper on the delivery front, but it's still a venture into the chill and experimental moods of the genre. Fans of Dom Kennedy, Tyler, The Creator, and Earl Sweatshirt may like this and be familiar with the style, especially lovers of Sweatshirt,

"RoseColoredGlasses" has a unique style though; reminiscent to Earl Sweatshirt, the mix leaves much to be desired, sounding as though it's recorded straight out of a laptop we recognize that sometimes this is a style, he also remains mysterious about his background although we wish we knew more, we think the artist has the potential to grow if they continue to work. These days being mysterious is a bold move, one that may reflect either enormous self-confidence or a lack of awareness of the industry norms. Interestingly, #BrainWater raps over a chopped-up beat of "True" by Spandau Ballet. While the original song has its own iconic status, #BrainWater's take is audacious, to say the least.
